RP Post: Moving In Day!
The new house had shiny windows and red siding, like a soft coral color that looked warm even in the shade. Cassidy tugged her suitcase up the sidewalk, even though it was a little too big and kept bumping against her legs. Bojangles walked right beside her, his ears bouncing with each step, staying close like he was guarding her from all the strange new smells.
Her moms were already inside, talking about paint colors and where to put things. Cassidy didn’t mind. She liked listening while she explored the corners on her own. Her room was at the very top of the townhouse, tucked under the roof with a window that looked out over the garden in the backyard. It felt a little like a tower, and that made her feel special in a quiet way.
Everything was new. The streets, the breeze, the way the air smelled like salt and summer. Cassidy was ready to learn it all.
And maybe, if Bojangles stayed close and the neighbors were kind, she’d make a few new friends too.
