RP Post: Football Day!

The living room was loud and full of snacks. Big bowls of chips and dip, sliders stacked high, little hot dogs wrapped in golden dough, and something cheesy bubbling in a dish that made the whole house smell like comfort. Grown-ups shouted at the TV, clapping and laughing and arguing in the way people do when football happens.
Cassidy didn’t know who was playing. She didn’t really care, either.
She had on her pink cheerleader dress, soft and swishy, and her one big pom pom that she shook every time someone yelled “Touchdown!” (even if she didn’t know what that meant). Her job was just to jump and spin and shout “Go team!” because that’s what cheerleaders do. She picked the team with the cutest mascot and decided that was good enough.
The game was fun. The snacks were better.
But shaking that pom pom?
That was the best part.
