Interior: Bringing It All Together

Not every project begins with a blank slate. Sometimes, the bones are already beautiful, and all that’s needed is a little intention to bring it all into harmony.

This particular space was already rich with style—midcentury modern curves, a few western touches, clean lines softened by natural fabrics. But something wasn’t clicking. The colors competed rather than complemented. Nothing felt quite right, no matter how carefully the client arranged it. That’s when she reached out.

The first thing I noticed? Her hair. A striking jade green, bold and unmistakably her. I matched the walls to that same shade, and just like that, the room began to hum with familiarity and warmth. The color pulled everything in and softened the room in all the right ways.

Her silver mirror, though lovely, wasn’t quite commanding enough for the wall. I replaced it with a large gold-framed mirror, its curves and details echoing the design era she loved. Her tall green plant found a new home in the living room—where sunlight would better serve it—and in its place stood a glass vase filled with tall, feathery pampas grass in golden-beige, standing proud against the rich green wall.

We swapped her bedding for layers of ivory and terracotta—soft, grounded, inviting. A nod to the desert without leaning too far into theme. Dried florals found a place atop her dresser, and her cowgirl hats—an expression of both style and sentiment—were hung neatly from a macramé holder, a display of her identity that added texture and charm.

In the corner, a rustic ivory stool with worn metal legs added just a whisper more of the western influence she loved. The kind of detail that doesn’t scream, but instead settles in.

The transformation wasn’t about reinventing the space. It was about seeing what was already there, finding the thread that connected it all, and tying it together in a way that finally felt like home.
